The purpose would be to share what we can make out of God. It assumes that we all have some divinity in us and that we all have experienced God sometimes without knowing it. We all have religious backgrounds that taught us things about God and we should examine that legacy to ferret out the parts that still make sense and perhaps carry our understanding further. In some cases we might find out that we need to wake up, to open our eyes and ears, and that if we do, we can see God at work in the world. And even further, we may figure out how to participate in that work. This, I suspect, will maximize our happiness.
